MVJ Pre University College celebrated Inaugural Day, ‘AROHANA-2023’ in the College Auditorium, on 17th June 2023. The purpose of the Inaugural Day is to welcome new students in a friendly atmosphere and put them at ease, so that the ice can be broken. It is the day when seniors and juniors bond together, and unite to celebrate being part of this great heritage – the MVJ group of institutions.
The programme started with lamp lightning and prayer by the choir group of the MVJ Pre University College. Abhilash from Second PUC Science welcomed the gathering, on behalf of the institution. The Chief Guest Dr. V. Suresh Babu (Principal of MVJ College of Engineering), along with the Principal of MVJ Pre University College Mr. Balakrishna Aliveli, inaugurated the event ‘AROHANA-2023’, by lighting the lamp.
The students who secured the highest marks in the Second PUC Annual Board examination – 2023 were felicitated at the event. Ramireddy Poojitha from Second PUC Commerce who has bagged the first position and topped the college, by securing 591 marks out of 600 with 98.5 percentage, was the first one to be honoured. Ramireddy Poojitha has done the college proud, by scoring centum in Accountancy, Business Studies, Statistics and Computer Science. In recognition of her hard work and dedication, the College has refunded 25% of her fees. In her speech, she expressed her gratitude to the institution for recognising her remarkable achievement. She credited the college and her teachers for guiding her towards this feat.
In the Commerce stream, Dhanush P has bagged the second position, by scoring 582 marks out of 600, with 97 percentage. He has also scored centum in Accountancy, Business studies and Computer Science. The third position holder, V. Chandana has scored 575 marks out of 600, with 95.83 percentage. She has scored centum in Computer Science.
In the Science stream, Sharanya K. M. is in the first position, securing 575 marks out of 600, with 95.83%. Preethi M and Monish R Gowda have both scored 571 marks (95%), and they are in the second position. In the third position are Keerthan M and Navyashree N, with 569 marks (94. 83%). All the achievers were felicitated with cash rewards and appreciation certificates. This gesture from the college has not only encouraged these brilliant students to aim for greater laurels, but also motivated the current set of students to emulate their success and strive hard.
The Chief Guest Dr. V. Suresh Babu then addressed the gathering and inspired the students with his motivational speech. Following this, the Principal of MVJ Pre University College Mr. Balakrishna Aliveli, delivered his vitalizing Presidential address, as the students listened in rapt attention.
No event is complete without showcasing the talents of students. After all the awards and speeches, music and dance lightened the atmosphere, as Hashmitha from Second PUC Science came on stage to perform Ganesha Vandana dance, to offer obeisance to Lord Ganesha, the remover of all obstacles. This was followed by several other performances by our talented Second year students – solo dance, tiger dance, semi classical dance, group dance and musical performances. The Second year students had indeed painstakingly put together lot of entertainment, to welcome their juniors!
The event ended with a vote of thanks which was proposed by Harish from Second PUC Commerce. Keerti and Poorvitha from Second PUC Science were the MCs for the event. The gathering dispersed after the National Anthem. The joyous occasion came to an end – the freshers took back a warm feeling, happy at the thought that they have indeed come to the right place for continuing their studies.
